Communication Media Day was a experience for Bowie State students. We had a chance to listen, speak, learn, and connect with people in the media field. The room was surrounded with black & gold decorations. The professors, chair of department, dean, and President Breaux did a phenomenal job speaking and granting us this opportunity. The media day packet expressed visual communication by letting everyone know that this is a Bowie State University communications event. The "C" in communications was emphasized in the logo. In the inside of the media day packet, it was well organized and detailed. The person who put the bibliography in there did a great job explaining each person. I would have to rate this event and the media day packet a 10/10.

  Donell Pettus VDCM 230 (Intro To Comp Graphics) October 13th, 2023 Direct Effect Innovation "7"  The Washington Hilton- 1919 Connecticut Ave NW Washington, DC (10:00 AM)        On October 13, 2023, the Direct Effect Innovation hosted an event at the Washington Hilton on 1919 Connecticut Ave. This was a competition between schools around the world competing to make a pitch to the marketing judges for their brand. They had a book for all the students that participated.  This book was colorful. It seems like the book was covered with shining stars. I was very amazed how the front cover was different than the back cover. Both covers had greats designs on them.  The design team did a great job bolding the name of the book and making the fonts the main focal point. I want to say thank you to Direct Effect Innovation for inviting me again. It was a nice experience.

Donell Pettus VDCM 230 (Intro To Comp Graphics) October 10th, 2023 Washington Wizards Alternate Nike NBA City Uniforms 2022/2023 "5" Fine and Performance Arts Center (12:00 P.M)      First introduced in 2016, the City Edition uniforms is updated each year. While some teams have stuck with the same design for multiple seasons, others continually switch it up. These uniforms represent the stories, history, and heritage that make each franchise unique. This honors the inherent bond between the court, community, and culture. The design team at Nike collaboration worked closely with each team. Last season, the Washington Wizards and Nike design team came up with a Washington Wizards Cherry blossoms uniform.  The bloom city edition uniforms pay tribute to the city's iconic cherry blossoms. Washington, D. C's cherry blossoms represent hope and new beginnings. The planting of cherry trees in Washington, DC originated in 1912 as a gift of friendship to the people of the United

Donell Pettus VDCM 230 (Intro To Comp Graphics) October 7th, 2023 Black Broadway (Coronation) Event "1" MLK Auditorium (7:30 P.M)                                                       Recently, Bowie State University hosted its Black Broadway coronation of the 31st & 77th Mister and Miss Bowie State University, Caleb Shaw-Watson & Trinity F. Cephas. This royal event took place on Wednesday October 4, 2023, at 7:30 P.M in the MLK auditorium. This event was phenomenal. The Bowie State royal court was unique. The royal’s outfits and the stage were filled with bright-colored. Visual communication was expressed throughout this whole event. Also, that includes the invitation flyer. Which is the first two pictures down below. In VDCM 230, we discussed how fashion designs can be created on photoshop and how it can be shown in different types of art.
