  Donell Pettus VDCM 230 (Intro To Comp Graphics) December 12th, 2023 Communication Media Day "13" MLK Building (12:00 PM) Communication Media Day was a experience for Bowie State students. We had a chance to listen, speak, learn, and connect with people in the media field. The room was surrounded with black & gold decorations. The professors, chair of department, dean, and President Breaux did a phenomenal job speaking and granting us this opportunity. The media day packet expressed visual communication by letting everyone know that this is a Bowie State University communications event. The "C" in communications was emphasized in the logo. In the inside of the media day packet, it was well organized and detailed. The person who put the bibliography in there did a great job explaining each person. I would have to rate this event and the media day packet a 10/10. 

Donell Pettus VDCM 230 (Intro To Comp Graphics) December 8th, 2023 New Sneaker  Collection "12" Fine and Performing Arts Center (4:00 PM) This event was very exciting. I saw some nice sneakers. They were also very colorful. The flyer for this event was made on photoshop. The artist did a great job expressing visual communication on the flyer. The flyer makes it look like the event will be a nice sneaker event. The artist shows the collaboration with Bowie State university and expressive soles. I would rate this project a 10/10.  

  Donell Pettus VDCM 230 (Intro To Comp Graphics) December 8th, 2023 Poetry Slam "11" MLK (6:00 P.M) This event was phenomenal. Bowie State students did a great job expressing their poetry. Some students even expressed their poetry in an artistic way. The artist who made this flyer was Jessiki Kelly. She originally draw the picture then she uploaded it on procreate and edited it digitally. The artist expresses visual communication on this flyer by having a microphone in someone’s hand to talk. I would rate this flyer and the event a 10/10.

  Donell Pettus VDCM 230 (Intro To Comp Graphics) December 2nd, 2023 HBCU IN LA/NY/ATL  "10" Fine and Performance Arts Center (12:00 P.M) HBCU IN LA/NY/ATL is under the Entertainment Industry College Outreach Program. This program provides internships to students who attend HBCU's. On the flyer below, the artist expresses their work in photoshop. They show visual communication on this flyer. The typography was readable and clear. The highlights on the flyer do not make you glimpse your eyes. The artist also does a great job expressing that the recruiters are from Bowie State University with their black and gold on, but also having a bowie student in the middle with business entire to show that this is a professional program. I would rate this flyer a 10/10. 

  Donell Pettus VDCM 230 (Intro To Comp Graphics) December 2nd, 2023   Lil Wayne THA CARTER V Album Cover "9" Fine and Performance Arts Center (12:00 P.M)     On September 28, 2018, Lil Wayne released his twelfth studio album. The album's release date commenced the day following Lil Wayne's 37th birthday. Dwayne Carter, as known as "Lil Wayne", talks about his mom, ex-wife, children, and suicidal thoughts. This album cover was created in photoshop. The artist did a great blurring of the background. Also, the contrast matches each other. I was amazed how he blended that with the original picture. When most people look at this album cover, they do not see that Lil Wayne as a baby has tattoos on his face. Those tattoos are really his but on his "adult" face. The artist did a great job grabbing an older Lil Wayne face and tracing it with a pen. Then, selecting the younger Lil Wayne face and putting it on there. I would rate this album cover a 10/10.

  Donell Pettus VDCM 230 (Intro To Comp Graphics) November 15th, 2023   Lakers’ 2023-24 city edition jersey  "8" Fine and Performance Arts Center (12:00 P.M) Every year, the NBA and Nike always partner up to give each 30 NBA teams city edition jerseys. The Los Lakers 2023-24 city edition jerseys  pays homage to the history of the franchise with the triangular  font that the team donned back when it moved from Minneapolis to Los Angeles.  Dubbed the “California Dream” ,  these jerseys are meant to pay respect to the team’s California roots. Los Angeles Lakers fans, including myself, think these jerseys are one of the worst L akers jerseys ever made. Some people think the pure art on jerseys might be the worst that Nike has come out with. Nike design team used photoshop and AI to create these jerseys. They used visual communication to express the history of the franchise with the triangular  font that the team donned back when it moved from Minneapolis to Los Angeles. I believe
